The Auckland Home Show ... done and dusted

The Auckland Home Show ... done and dusted

We had a blast at the Auckland Home Show last week. It was a full-on four days, but both Jo and I had such a great time talking clutter (and of course decluttering!) to everyone that stopped by the stand. It was fun to see the mix in interest between Clutter Collect's DIY decluttering solution, and our parent company's Done For You decluttering services.

I delivered 4 x workshops (titled "Realistic Home Organisation") and 4 x seminars (titled "The Art of Decluttering"), and was thrilled to see a decent crowd at all of them. There were a range of thoughtful questions - how to deal with sentimental items, what to do if you were storing stuff for other people, and many more. I'll try to cover those off in blog posts in coming months, as there is probably wider interest in those topics!

It was funny watching people as they made their way past the Clutter Collect stall. We could see people look up at the signage and realise we were a decluttering service - they'd then either make a beeline for us or avert their eyes and hurry past. Those were the ones that made me smile - don't worry, I'm not going to tackle you!

It's taken me a good few days to recover from 41 hours of standing on my feet for the 4 days and catch up on allllllll the admin that fell by the wayside, but I think by the end of this week I'll be back on top of things and ready to start planning next year's Home Show experience!

Fun fact: I actually love public speaking. If you ever need a speaker to come and deliver a presentation to your workplace or community group on the subject of decluttering and organising, I'm your gal! I have a range of topics that I can speak to, depending on what you need. Get in touch!
